Fake Version of Temple Run in the Android Market – Malware

This copy of Temple Run (at least that is claimed) see as being available in the Android Market. But if you check the information on the game developer, you will see that it is not the same as that in the developers in the IOS version that is Imangi Studios.
Do Not Download Any Fake Temple Run Apps in the Android Market

Once you install this temple run application for the android it will installed and run, it creates shortcuts on an infected smartphone’s homepage.


It also is capable of displaying ads using the mobile notification.

Once user has shared and rated the app, it displays a countdown of the app’s release instead of showing the actual game. We classify this type of app as malware because of its aggressive advertising method. Trend Micro currently detects this fake Temple Run app as ANDROIDOS_FAKERUN.A.

We reported this to Google and they immediately removed it from the Android Market. Since then we have other applications to do a similar trick found, so users should always be careful to download applications on their mobile devices.
